'Ya Mahdi' Bannai Calligraphy with Islimi Background in Turquoise and Gold

Bannai is one form Islamic Kufic (Kufi) calligraphy. It was used in Iran for the first time mainly in the buildings' inscriptions. What is significant about this type of calligraphy is its geometric forms like square, rectangular and crossed lines which creates angular scripts.
Mona went further and applied Islimi/Eslimi motif as the background in her painting to create rich, authentic and stylish effect.
She is one of the London resident artists who explores Iranian motif by adding her own unique initiatives.
